Heat treatment and Surface Engineering – New Trends and Developments

The conference mainly addresses the following topics, yet other contributions regarding new heat treatment and surface engineering developments are also welcome:

  • Coating technology and coatings (PVD, CVD, thermal spray, ...)
  • Design and construction of industrial heat treatment equipment
  • Equipment for measurement and process control
  • Quenching technology, equipment and quenchants
  • Distortion
  • Environmental aspects of heat treatment and surface engineering
  • Tribology and tribological testing methods
  • Wear and wear protection

Modeling and simulation of heat treatment and surface engineering related aspects (heat transfer, diffusion, phase transformations, microstructural changes, residual stresses, distortion, microstructure-property relationships

Call for papers

An abstract of 300 words maximum should be submitted electronically, preferably in Word or as a PDF file The abstract should include the title of the paper, the author's names and addresses, telephone and fax numbers and e-mail addresses. Please mark the author who is going to hold the oral presentation. Besides oral presentations it is intended to organize a poster session if too many abstracts are offered. Only English language will be used for all abstracts, papers, posters (if applicable) and oral presentations.

The best oral presentation and the three best posters will be rewarded by an independent jury of experts. IFHTSE’s Tom Bell Young Author’s Award will be endowed with EUR 1.500, three selected posters with EUR 500 each.
