Online lecture in the context of the AWT heat treater circle Suhl: The material stress in the area of the contact points between the rolling element and raceway is shown by means of diagrams. Based on this analysis, the properties required for rolling bearing materials are derived. Using the steel 100CrMnSi6-4 as an example, it is shown how the properties of rolling bearing steels can be specifically adjusted by means of hardening temperature, quenching process and tempering temperature.
