Heat Treaters' Circle Suhl

Lecture "The digital coil as a supplement to (physical) cold-rolled strip. "Digital spinning" or a chance to reduce process downtime in the processing of semi-finished products?", Speaker Dr. Andreas Peters

The experience that semi-finished products behave "differently than usual" during further processing (e.g. by forming, cutting or heat treatment) and that this leads to disruptions in the production process (e.g. due to non-compliance with quality characteristics) has probably already been made by every metalworking company. This is precisely where a research project funded by the BMWK (www.spaicer.de) comes in. With the help of micromagnetic measurements of the semi-finished products used (here: cold-rolled strip) and the use of special data analysis methods (including artificial intelligence), an attempt is being made to predict the behavior during further processing and to propose corrective measures. The presentation reports on the status of the research project and also addresses the challenges that small and medium-sized companies in particular face when applying this solution approach.
